Alex Hewson - Assistant Coach

Alex began her association with swimming at around five years old. Her sister, Christina, swam every day and Alex was dragged along. She finally caught the bug and began swimming year round at the age of eight. She has been around the pool ever since. She adores all of her swim buddies, no matter what their age.

Aside from swimming, coaching, and learning at home; Alex spends a lot of time babysitting. She loves being around babies and small children. Although plans are not definite at this time, teaching is being considered for her career. She finds time in her busy schedule to be a partner with her mother in a small business that deals in vintage beach furniture and art. Her mother claims that Alex is really the boss.

When not busy at work, Alex finds many activities for fun……mainly in the country. She has lived her entire life in Awendaw on the water. She loves boating, fishing, tubing, being at the beach, and just hanging around the water. At home, her pets give her plenty of affection. She has 3 cats and two dogs. George, Lucy Lu, Tiger, Pooh Bear and Little Bear all get a lot of attention when Alex is around.

Alex is looking forward to a great summer working with all of the kids, coaches and parents.
